Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) has been a leader in recognizing that supporting teachers is an effective way to support students. In 2009, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation recognized that leadership and awarded HCPS a $100 million seven-year grant to support developing new ways to improve teaching. It is our belief that giving teachers the support they need will result in increased student achievement, higher graduation rates, and greater career and college readiness.
