Hurricane Preparedness
Suarez Housing, as Florida's Hometown Builder, designs each home to account for Florida's unique climate and frequent storms. We use stronger, sturdier materials and build for increased energy efficiency and wind and debris protection.
Starting mid 2007, all of our homes can be purchased with NuImpact™ hurricane resistant laminated glass windows. These windows and sliding glass doors feature laminated glass with a clear PVB (polyvinyl butyral) interlayer that provides continuous protection, even after the glass is broken. This defense eliminates the need for unsightly, inconvenient and expensive shutters.

NuImpact windows have been designed specifically to meet the tough weather conditions in Florida, where hurricanes and high winds are a way of life.
In addition, Suarez homes are built with a number of structural upgrades that enhance your family's safety and security during foul weather events. Roof overhangs, fully cased door jams, 12'' on center wood interior studs on load bearing walls, wood soffits, and Hardie Plank facia with pressure treated trim all contribute to the strength that characterizes a Suarez home.
